Tis the season of giving! During the month of December, the Home of the Good Shepherd in Saratoga and the Home of the Good Shepherd Memory Care Residence worked together to collect non-perishable food items for Franklin Community Center’s Food Pantry. This week, Home of the Good Shepherd staff delivered over 223 pounds of pasta, canned vegetables, soup, and many other non-perishable items and hygiene products. “We are very fortunate to have such wonderful partners like Home of the Good Shepherd who understand the need in our community and do their part to help us meet it.” states Kari Cushing, Executive Director Franklin Community Center. “Many of our residents suffer from food insecurity and this is something we can work together to overcome.”
Fran Filkins, Activities Coordinator for Home of the Good Shepherd coordinated the annual food drive and stated, “We were all very excited to help such an amazing local non-profit human service organization that serves so many children, families, and individuals in need residing in Saratoga County.” In addition, “We are thankful that our residents, their family members and our staff were so generous with all of the donations we received.”

"My 84-year old mother never imagined that she would be so happy at Home of the Good Shepherd! She loves the staff and enjoys the company of fellow residents. She can't believe how much there is to do and she loves not having to cook or clean anymore! Thank you for creating such a wonderful place.."
